Goodbye Quotes And Sayings about Letting Go

When the situation is part of everyday life, such as going off to school or work, or even when someone is leaving for a short vacation trip, saying goodbye is rather easy. It is a standard part of human relationships that we all have become accustomed to. Sometimes the act of saying goodbye is slightly painful but brings closure to a relationship that has gradually moved in that direction. We still feel the pain and may even wish for something to turn the situation around so that we don’t have to actually say the words.

There are, in fact, so many points in our lives when the word “goodbye” is the correct thing to say that people have developed philosophies about the subject. For example, one wise man has suggested that we shouldn’t be overly concerned about saying goodbye because, under normal circumstances it is necessary to part with a final word so that we can anticipate meeting again in the near future. This is certainly one way to view the idea of parting and saying so long. But under other circumstances saying goodbye is more than difficult. It may be almost impossible. In fact, we can greet each other quickly and get the idea to the other person. Yet when it comes time to say goodbye we need a lot of time. It seems there are just so many things to say, most of them are often left unsaid.

Some of the most common thoughts on saying goodbye have to do with being glad! That may seem extraordinary but the truth is we can turn the idea of parting on its head and tell ourselves that we are fortunate to have someone or something we love so much it makes us sad to say goodbye for even a short time. What a delightful way to view what is often one of the most difficult parts of life.
